Elizabeth Arnold
In March 2009 I had the misfortune of tripping and breaking the femur in my left leg. My operation, whilst in hospital, involved the insertion and screwing of a 10 inch titanium pin into the top of the left leg. I returned home 2 weeks later together with crutches and certain ‘disabled equipment’ to aid my recovery.
However, although my mind remained very active, my progress, as far as I was concerned, was very slow. My aim was to be mobile by July (2019) when it was to be my 80th birthday. Remembering that several years ago I had successfully received physiotherapy for a frozen shoulder at The Physiotherapy Centre in Sittingbourne, I made an appointment regarding my current condition. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that The Physiotherapy Centre had another treatment centre closer to me, at Derby Road, Gillingham.
I hobbled, on crutches, into my first appointment and was welcomed by Karen (a Chartered Physiotherapist) who quickly understood, explaining in detail exactly what I had done. Karen not only advised on physiotherapy/treatment but gave me the confidence to follow her guidance and with regard to exercises ect. between treatments.
I can confidently recommend The Physiotherapy Centre – such was Karen’s treatment, professionalism, encouragement and kindness, I was not only able to enjoy my 80th birthday in July, but was able to go on holiday to America 2 months later in September, without using walking sticks or any other aids. (I was originally told at the hospital that it would take up to a year to recover.)
